A new study published by The Royal Society shows that pigeons (鸽子) have amazing memories. The report says they can use landmarks (地标) to remember their way, even after four years.

The study data came from a 2016 experiment in which the birds tried to find their way home from a farm 8.6 kilometers away. When brought back to the same place in 2019 and 2020, the birds were able to plan their routes with great accuracy (准确度). University of Oxford zoologist Julien Collet said: “It was as if the last time they flew there was just the day before, not four years ago.”它们可以从8.6公里外的地方飞回家，时隔四年，却仿佛昨天才飞过一遍似的！
Pigeons have long had a connection with people. They are among the earliest domesticated (家养的) birds. Their ability to find their way home made them valuable. People used them to carry important messages quickly over long distances (距离).鸽子和人类可是“老相识”了，它们是最早被驯化的鸟类之一。鸽子凭借超强的记忆力，可以帮助人们在遥遥路途中快速、准确地传达重要信息。
