As we all know, Christmas is the "New Year" for Westerners. For us Chinese, the Spring Festival is the real start of the Chinese New Year. While celebrating the most important festival of the year with your family, do you feel like celebrating New Year’s Day is a real achievement?

新年也是对过去一年的庆祝，我们既不能让时光倒流，退回到2003年过一周，也不能跳到2031年过几天看看未来是什么样子。

New Year’s Day celebrates the fact that we’ve lived another 365 days. It’s not like we can request some time off and go back to 2003 for a week. Nor can we skip ahead to 2031 for a few days just to see what it’s like.

We celebrate the start of every new year not so much because of what is ahead of us, but because of what we’ve made it through.
