0 Safety Directions

 The attachment tool, Powertool, enables the knife shaft to be

tightened or loosened safely and professionally. In addition to the

special safety information given here, please always observe the

user information of the VACUUM-CUTMIX VCM 550, 530 and CM

520 as well as that of the WMK knife head. If the machine

changes hands, this information must be passed on, too.

 Make sure that the cap nut of the knife head is firmly tightened!

 Retighten the cap nut after a long operating rest period (more than

5 hours) and after changing a knife within 5 to 10 minutes of

operating time! The plastic parts of the knife head are subject to

changes under the influence of temperature and humidity, as a

result of which the necessary tension cannot be guaranteed any

more under certain circumstances.

 Always tighten the cap nut after using the emergency stop button

because of extreme brake force!

 Only use the dynamometric key supplied with the Powertool.

This is adjusted to a specific torque at the factory and must not be

changed.

However, if this is changed unintentionally, then always contact

the customer service department of K+G WETTER.

 Damaged cap nuts must either be restored to working order or, in

the case of serious defects, exchanged for new ones.

 Always store your Powertool in a dry place when not in use.

The materials used are not universally resistant against corrosion

or ageing due to functional and manufacturing reasons.

 If somebody is not able to read or to understand this user

information, all instructions and safety guidelines must be

scrupulously explained to him. It concerns your safety!

Possible consequences for nonobservance:

 fatal or serious to extremely serious injuries!!!

 serious damage to the machine.

 unsatisfactory product quality.

1 Working with the Powertool

1.1 Protective Measures

Always observe the safety directions and the user information of the

VACUUM-CUTMIX VCM 550; 530, CM 520 and the WMK knife

head.

1.2 Obligations of the Operator

The operator must instruct the employees about the requirements for

using the Powertool in accordance with the operating manual. It is

recommended to keep written proof concerning the instructions.

The operator is obliged to observe the current regulations stipulating

the place of installation e.g.:

- Obtainment of operating authority

- Hygiene regulations,

- Industrial safety regulations and employment disqualifications,

1.4 Tightening the Cap Nut

Place the locking plate (with frontal notches) in front of the knife

package and the washers on the knife shaft.

First screw on the cap nut by hand and then lightly tighten with the

ring spanner (Figure 2) supplied.

Place the Powertool on the cap nut and turn slightly to the left, so

that the four bolts can lock into place in the notches.

Tighten Powertool with the dynamometric key. When the correct

tension has been reached, then a double stop signal follows (a

distinct jerk and a sharp click).

Very gently switch over the ratchet of the dynamometric key and

release the tension of Powertool by a slight backward movement

of the dynamometric key.

Remove Powertool.

Tighten locking screw (see Figure 1) in clockwise direction.

Rotate knife head and cutter bowl one revolution by hand.

The knives must not touch the bowl. Otherwise they must be resharpened

(see user information of the knife head).
